About Dale!

Dale knows how to succeed.
He entertains, educates and motivates.

Eagle Scout, U.S. Army Paratrooper, Captain, Award-winning Salesman, Corporate VP, Board President, Civic Leader, Author, Speaker, Mustang Restorer, Dedicated Father and happily married for 32 years all describe Dale. (NOTE: definitely not listed in order of importance!)

Since childhood, Dale always wanted to know more and accomplish more. The Greatest Generation of Americans in the small town he grew up in, Minden, Louisiana, nurtured Dale and instilled in him positive values, competitiveness and a love for God, country and other people.

Dale's father flew combat in World War II and his mother was a "Rosie the Riveter." After the War, they built successful careers and a family of four competitive, successful children. As the third child, Dale had to learn fast and play above his game to keep up with older siblings. He enjoyed that.

After earning a degree in Educational Psychology, Dale volunteered for the Army. Five years later, he was a Captain and nuclear and chemical weapons specialist. He translated that knowledge into a pharmaceutical sales job in the early 1980s. Dale excelled in a 20-year pharmaceutical career, working his way up the corporate ladder to Vice President through sales, marketing, sales management, national account sales and business development. His specialty became opening new territories and growing new companies.

Dale wrote the marketing plans that made LORTAB® a nationally known drug. Later, he and eight others founded their own company, Scandipharm, to manufacture and distribute products for cystic fibrosis patients. After they sold that company, Dale started a second career in advertising, becoming Advertising Sales Manager for Alabama's largest daily newspaper.

Dale Brakhage believes in giving back to his community. He is currently serving Birmingham as the president of the Birmingham City Schools Career and Technical Education Advisory Board and Vice President of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) in Birmingham, Alabama. He recently served as president of the AAF Birmingham in 2008 and 2009.

Dale has trained thousands of people to do hundreds of jobs. His knowledge of educational psychology, his years of successful business experience, his quick-witted humor and his love of people combine to make Dale a captivating speaker. Since he began speaking professionally in 2007, audiences all over the Southeast have found Dale's presentations as entertaining as they are valuable. Dale's audiences laugh as they learn.
